Day by day itinerary:

Day 01: Beijing -- Datong by overnight train
Pick up from your hotel around 9:30pm and transferred to Beijing Railway Station. You will take the train K707 (23:00 - next day 0630am) for Datong. It is an important industrial and railway center in an area of great coal deposits. It is also famous for the Yungang Grottoes, a collection of shallow caves located 16 km west of Datong.
Stay overnight on the train ( 4 people in one compartment - soft sleepers )

Day 02: Arrival Datong ( B L D )
Arrival in Datong at 06:30am. Your tour guide will pick you up and transferr to your hotel. After breakfast, you will be transferred to Hanging Temple lying at the foot of Mt.Hengshan 80km away from Datong. The temple suspends on the west steep side of a hill with over 50 meters high above the ground, hence the name of Hanging Monastery. After lunch, drive to the Wooden Pagoda in Yingxian 50am away from Hanging Temple. It is said that it is the oldest preserving wooden Buddhist pagoda in China. Return to Datong from Yingxian 60km away from Datong.( B L D )

Day 03: Datong - Beijing
After breakfast, visit the Yungang Grottoes. The 53 grottoes in Yungang Grottos cover about 1,000 niches with over 51,000 statues – a treasure and art that blends traditional Chinese art forms with foreign influence, esepcially from Greek and Indian. After lunch, take Train K714 ( 12:47 / 18:51 ) for Beijing. Met and transfered to your hotel in Beijing.
