Day by day itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Beijing
Arrival in Beijing, met by our private tour guide who will pick you up and transfer you to our pre-booked in Beijing. Free for rest of ther day.

Day 02: Beijing ( B L D )
Full day City tour to Tian'anmen Square - biggest downtown square; Forbidden City - imperial palace of ancient China; Temple of Heaven - ancient worship architecture; Summer Palace - imperial garden.

Beijing Duck dinner and Peking Opera Performance in the evening.

Day 03: Beijing ( B L D )
A full day excursion to the Badaling Great Wall and Ming Tombs. The Great Wall is the landmark of China. Ming Tombs are where 13 emperors of the Ming dynasty (1368-1644) were buried.

Day 04: Beijing - Datong by overnight train ( B L D )
Today's tour focuses on the traditional part of Beijing residential area. Take a men driving rickshaw to visit Old Beijing Hutongs and enter the former Prince Gong's Mansion to experience the noble life of the last Qing Emperor"s father.

Chinese lunch at an ordinary family of Beijinger"s in a courtyard. After lunch proceed to have a look at Lama Temple. Then we will visitXiushui Market for silk, vase other local arts and crafts. In the evening, take overnight train ( 4-bed cabin ) to Datong.

Day 05: Arrival at Datong ( B L D )
Arrival in Datong at early in the morning. Your tour guide will pick you up and transferr to your hotel. Full day tour of the Yungang Grotto, Nine Dragon Wall, Huayan Temple and Shanhua Temple.

Yungang Grotto is is one of China's biggest grottoes with world-famous treasure-collection of arts and culture. Nine Dragon Screen in Datong is one of the three noted Nine Dragons Screens in China.

Day 06: Datong - Pingyao ( B L D )
Take private car or van to Pingyao. On the way to Taiyuan, visit the Hanging Temple and Yingxian Wood Pagoda. Hanging Temple is located at the foot of Mt. Hengshan 65 kilometers from downtown Datong City. The temple hangs on the west cliff of a hill with over 50 meters above the ground, hence Hanging Monastery. Yingxian Wood Pagoda is the oldest wooden Buddhist pagoda in existence in China.

Day 07: Pingyao - Beijing by highspeed train ( B L )
After breakfast, visit the ancient city of Pingyao. Pingyao City is a small town in central Shanxi Province, near Taiyuan. Pingyao boasts plenty of cultural relics. The city wall was first built during the Zhou Dynasty (11th century - 256 B.C.) and was expanded in 1370, the third year of the reign of Ming Emperor Hongwu. Since 1997, it was listed as a World Heritage Site.

First visit Ming and Qing Street, also called Nanda Jie (South Avenue). It is one of the busy and interesting streets in which to experience ancient Chinese culture. It is 440 long, Ming and Qing Street used to be the commercial center of Pingyao ancient city.

Then visit the Ancient City Wall of Pingyao City. The city of Pingyao is one of the four remaining well-preserved ancient cities in China. The city wall has a perimeter of 6.4 kilometers and is over 12 meters high and 3.5 meters wide.
Continue to visit the Rishengchang Exchange Shop. It is the earliest bank in China, first opened in the 18th century. Rishengchang was the first money exchange shop in the history of China.

Afternoon take highspeed train ( second class tickets ) back to Beijing. Met and transferred back to your hotel in Beijing.
