Itinerary:
Pick up you and your kids from your hotel around 8:30am. First visit Sony ExploraScience. It is situated inside the Chaoyang Park, near the south gate, Chaoyang District,Tel: 6501 8800. Opening hour: Mon-Fri 9.30am-6pm, Sat-Sun 9.30am-7.30pm, closed on second Mon and Tue of each month. It is a Science and technology museum, a science museum created by Sony to give people the freedom to experience and discover, an interactive educational center for promotion of science and education. The blend of science and technology is the main theme of Sony ExploraScience. It blends interactive educational exhibits from the Exploratorium in San Francisco with Sony's latest digital technologies to assist young children to experience the attraction of science. Sony ExploraScience is separated into four parts composed of "illusion,"- the unique nature of optical illusions can be experienced; "refraction/reflection" - light travels through space to deliver information"; "light/colors" - using spectroscopes and computer processing we can experience how the light we see everyday is made up of various wavelengths and "sounds" - sound is an invisible phenomenon that travels through space". The aim of Sony ExploraScience, as Nobuyuki Idei, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sony Corporation, said, is to fulfill the dreams of the world's Digital Dream Kids.
Beijing Planetarium, Beijing Planetarium is a national leader in public astronomy, a beloved civic visiting place, and one of Beijing’s most popular attractions. It contains two parts: Beijing Planetarium and Beijing Ancient Observatory. Beijing Planetarium consists of new building and the old Planetarium. The new facility has several exciting parts: Digital space theater, 3D theater, 4D theater, exhibition hall, two observatories. After 50 years of public use by roughly 18 million visitors, it’s under rebuilding and will be reopened in March 2008. There are a planetarium and two exhibition galleries in old Planetarium. Beijing Planetarium is one of the powerful planetaria in the world. It has made great contributions to popularize astronomy. It is located 138 Xizhimenwai Dajie, Beijing.
After lunch, drive to Beijing Zoo to see the Giant Pandas. Beijing Zoo is located to the west of Beijing City ( 2km west of Xizhimen Subway Station). Beijing Zoo was initially named Ten Thousand Animal Garden which was built in 1908. The buildings in the Zoo cover an area of more than 50,000 square meters, including the monkey hill, the panda hall, the lion and tiger hill, the elephant hall, the see beast hall, and many others. Altogether there are more than 30 large halls. It has a collection of more than 600 types of animal species and more than 7, 000 population of animals.
After the tour to Beijing Zoo, walk to the adjacent Beijing Aquarium, located on the north bank of the Changhe River within the Beijing Zoo, a good place to take children. Knowen as "the world's largest inland aquarium", this huge structure gives a close-up view at the teeming life of the world's rivers and oceans. Beijing Aquarium is a magnificent architecture shaped like a huge blue conch parking itself on the beach embraced by green trees and clusters of beautiful flowers. It covers 120,000 square meters with a construction area of 42,000 square meters and integrates marine animals’ shows, scientific education and entertainment into a whole body. Ever since it was opened in March 1999, it has attracted about 1.5 million tourists per year. The porpoise performance and fish feeding times in the big tank are not to be missed. It has an Amazon rainforest area, coral reefs, a shark aquarium, whales, dolphins and a marine mammal pavilion. The latter hosts lively aquatic animal displays. Admission: RMB 100, students RMB 60, people over 60 years RMB 60. Two children under 1.2 m admitted free with each adult. Aquarium tickets include admission to the zoo. Opening Hours: 9:30-17:00 (18:00 on Sat. and Sun.). Ticket sales finish at 16:00.
At the end of the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel in Beijing.
