Day by day itinerary:

Pick you up at your hotel in Beijing by our private tour guide at 8:30am. Walk or take cab to the nearest subway station (remark: you will pay the taxi fee if you take cab to the subway station). First take subway to Tian'anmen Square, the largest city square of such kind in the world.

After visiting Tiananmen Square, move on to the Forbidden City, also known as the Imperial Palace Museum officially. The Forbidden City was the seat of Imperial power for 500 years, and is now a major tourist attraction in China. After finishing the tour of the Forbidden City, exit from its north gate and continue to visit Beihai Park.

It used to be a winter palace for emperors for successive dynasties. There are now two things to see here: the park itself and the round city. Then take cab ( paid by us ) to Shichahai area for hutong tour.

The pedicab tours of the hutongs cover the attractions that include the Drum Tower, courtyard neighborhoods and Prince Gong's Mansion. Lunch will be arranged at a local family. The host will teach you how to make Chinese dishes and have the home-made lunch. After the day tour, you will return to your hotel on your own.
